Life is becoming very mainstream – now on the ABC they have a story on a woman saving fuel by lowering her tyre pressure.  This has been one of our tips for a longtime.  Car and tyre companies “recommend”  tyre pressure way below what is needed for reducing consumption of fuel.

WHY ?

Cars are more comfortable to drive in at a lower tyre pressure – more cushion effect.  Try it though – a higher pressure makes little difference.

Tyres last alot less time when at lower pressure.  So you need to replace, buy far far more often.  Tyre technology has improved dramatically.  What has not changed is attitude to tyre pressure and promotion of costs and benefits.

So save fuel, save tyres for very little cost in terms of comfort.
