Fencing
There has been a lot of internal fencing done on Eden Pond to create an easily manageable grazing property, featuring close to 75 grazing paddocks. The internal fencing consists of single wire electric fence using 12-gauge electrical wire with ceramic insulators and steel posts.
This allows for ease of management and reduces impediments to wildlife reducing the need to fix internal fences and prevents trailing. The unique benefit, of such a grazing set up, is the ability to utilise close to all the forge, and to have the maximum control over timing and grazing management.
Environment, Ecology and Soil
Good management has blessed Eden Pond for the last eight years. The vendors have taken many years of experience across Australia regenerating degraded pastures and developed Eden Pond into this standout regenerative property.
Many desirable grass species such as Kikuyu, Setaria, Paspalum varieties and Green Panic are in abundance. Under continuing good management practices these will continue to gain larger shares of pasture.
Large stands of mono-culture soft-wood plantation have been removed to make way for these improved pastures. In addition, 10,000 diverse native tree species have been planted in a wildlife corridor to assist in the movement and feed of the resident koala population. This work was done in conjunction with Bangalow Koalas.

Holistic Management and Grazing
Eden Pond has been grazing under the principles of RCS (resource consulting services) and Holistic Management for approximately eight years. In that time the environment has had a measurable and verifiable improvement.
Recently Eden Pond underwent the verification process of measuring ecological regeneration with the Australian Holistic Management Co-operative. In the first monitoring after baseline, the property showed verifiable increases in bio-diversity markers. This positive result allows the produce of Eden Pond to be sold with the Land to Market seal, verifying that the land is regenerating whilst producing food.
Carbon Project
Eden pond has partnered with Carbon Asset Solutions, an Australian
soil carbon company, to become the first property in Australia to use cutting edge technology to scan the ground and provide the world’s most accurate soil carbon reading. From this carbon credits can be generated and sold adding a level of financial benefit. There is potential for a prospective buyer to continue with this project, or to end it at their choosing incurring no financial penalty.
Koala Conservation
After the discovery of a residential population of vulnerable koalas, the management in conjunction with Bangalow Koalas, planted 10,000 diverse native tree species. They have been planted in a wildlife corridor from one side of the property to the other, to assist in the movement of the resident koala population.
This is a feather in the cap of Eden Pond showing its commitment to the environment.
In addition, within the next few years the single-wire electric fences can be removed from the plantation allowing the cattle to graze and shelter underneath the trees. This creates a synergistic relationship, enhancing not only the environment, but also boosting productivity.
This also helps assist in the prevention of a shift from woodland to rainforest. This tree planting also benefits the native bird and mammal life too, by providing proper habitat.
Kyogle and the Community
Nestled in the upper Richmond Valley, Kyogle town and region is a simply beautiful and serene place to live in.
Boasting a selection of both public and private schools with bus service to the end of Asprey’s Road.
With plenty of local sports and community groups there is plenty of opportunity to get involved and be part of a rural shire. From farmers and flea markets to the annual giant pumpkin and watermelon festival, there is plenty to do in Kyogle.
Kyogle has all the amenities you could need. Schools, hospital, supermarket and local crafts and trades on the high street all wrapped in a clean and aesthetic heritage town.
Only an hour and a half from Gold Coast Airport (OOL) and an hour from Byron Bay, Kyogle is close enough to the wider world to be convenient but sheltered from the hustle-and-bustle of civilisation to deliver a perfect balance between the two.
