Eco Hideaway on 100 Acres with Sweeping Uninterrupted Sea Views
Solar powered, passive solar limestone, cedar & colorbond house.

There are 3 double bedrooms, an inside/outside large bathroom with long, deep bath and separate shower.

Lots of built in storage, walk in pantry, gas and wood stoves and wood heater.

Stunning views from every window with great natural light, high ceilings, paved verandahs, pergola with grape vines and exterior see-through blinds that protect from summer sun. The Winter sun streams in to dark coloured concrete floors and the large mass of solid 400mm thick limestone walls.

Solar hot water system backed up with wood stove in kitchen.

The limestone was quarried on the block and used with much artistic flair by a master stonemason.

All weather access, bush/pasture/winter creek.

Big 20ft x 30ft shed with high ceilings and concrete floor (plenty of room for boat/caravan).

Organic orchard and garden plus 95,000 litres (21,000 gallons) of water storage – never gone below one third full (even at the end of drought) and always with 5,000 gallons in reserve in summer for fire pump.

The orchard is a fruit lovers dream with grapevines, fig, lemon, apple, crab-apple, quince, persimmon, mulberry, almond, nectarine, pomegranate and loquat trees.

Ideal for garlic growing - it loves limestone (grows wild on it around Pelican Lagoon) and this property has a paddock near the winter creek with underground water which would be ideal. Never enough of it in Australia, big demand unless you want to eat Chinese or Mexican. The wildlife don't eat it and it is easy to manage.

Recycled water to the orchard area. Pressure pump hose for garden and gravity fed water supply to house.

ADSL broadband is available and there is an excellent local service provider.

Peace and total privacy yet close to shops, schools, sporting facilities, churches & medical services.

This is a unique property built with all low allergy materials – natural timbers and paints. No particle board or toxic products used inside. Minimal maintenance of exterior required.

Hand built doors with antique knobs and specially commissioned tiles in bath and kitchen are features.

A modified Mediterranean style cooling system keeps things cool in summer – total cross ventilation in house and roof space (gable vents) which is opened at night to suck out warm air. Thick roof insulation keeps inside cool/warm, depending on season.

This house demonstrates many of the principles of good design and energy saving.

Minutes form deserted beaches (Brown’s Beach & American Beach) close to the Dudley Conservation Park with wonderful bush walks. Wildlife abounds – Tammar wallabies, unique KI subspecies of kangaroos, echidnas, goannas, dozens of bird species and native flora – some rare.

This property is a piece of paradise, far from the madding crowd. Designed by, and built for a writer/poet.

Located just 11 km from the Penneshaw Ferry Terminal on Kangaroo Island; this elevated property offers stunning views of the ocean, American River and undulating rural landscapes with the refreshing scents of the ocean and native forest.

Within a short distance from local shops and services, national parks, restaurants, cafes, sports oval and famous tourist attractions; and a pleasant drive to the hub of Kangaroo Island’s shopping and business districts; the property’s location offers easy access to an array of shopping, entertainment, nature and leisure experiences.

Penneshaw is a township on the northeast coast of the Dudley Peninsula on Kangaroo Island in South Australia, and is the island's main ferry port with regular services from Cape Jervis. Penneshaw features a Maritime and Folk Museum, and evening tours to a colony of little penguin, the only species of penguin to breed in Australian waters.

At the 2006 census, Penneshaw had a population of 265.
Originally known as Hog Bay due to the pigs released by French Commander Nicholas Baudin, Penneshaw was named after a combination of the names of Dr. F.W.Pennefather, private secretary to Governor Jervois, and Flora Louisa Shaw, The Times colonial editor, a visitor to Government House.

South Australia's first modern seawater desalination plant was established at Penneshaw in the 1990s, to supplement the town's limited dam water supply.
Kangaroo Island is Australia's third-largest island, after Tasmania and Melville Island. It lies in the state of South Australia 112
